Design and Development of Soft Exoskeleton Gloves for Elderly and Disabled Assistive Devices.

Objective of project

1.  For design and develop prototype soft exoskeleton gloves model. 
2.  For the study the flexure characteristics of joints in soft exoskeleton gloves. 
3.  For the study the mechanism in soft exoskeleton gloves.

This paper presents design and development of soft exoskeleton gloves as a guide for design and development for using in soft exoskeleton gloves for elderly and disabled assistive devices with the purpose of helping elderly and disabled that is still able to exert themselves and become more able to catch anything. Development starting with designed appearance and simulation soft robotic in 3D with solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) program (Solidwork) including making acrylic structures with LaserCAD program and assembled the workpieces to be tested. By the result of pressure/results from the reduction of pressure in soft robot structure resulting in flexion and movement according to the design. Therefore, it can be concluded that the design and development of this soft robot structure can be used as a prototype for helping gloves for the elderly or disabled to extend to real users.
