Developing an Instrument for Observing Veins Using Near-Infrared Light

Objective of project

To create an instrument that can view veins by using a night-vision camera.

The purpose is to create an instrument that can view veins by using a night-vision camera.  We attached a cheap night-vision camera to a cardboard box and tried irradiating near-infrared light to the back of our hands.  Veins were projected on a computer screen as black lines.  We believe this instrument could be used as a cheap medical diagnostic tool that can be used at home.
