Robot for creating pattern from Hypotrochoid and Epitrochoid curve equation

Objective of project

1. Studying about the relationship between r , R and d of Epitrochoid curve equation.
2. Studying about the relationship between r , R and d of Hypotrochoid curve equation.
3. Studying about the relationship between the number of intercept point and pattern from Hypotrochoid and Epitochoid curve equation.
4. Make a drawing robot.

Making a drawing robot from the relationship between Hypotrochoid and Epitrochoid curve equation. Studying about the relationship between Hypotrochoid and Epitrochoid curve equation.
1. Studying about the relationship between r , R and d of Epitrochoid curve equation. We found pattern from Epitrochoid curve equation
Case 1 Determine R = r
r > 0 , r | R have 3 cases are 0 < d < r , d=r and d > r. 
The gear belt pattern has 1 intercept point. If we increase d value, it makes turning in gear belt curve bigger.
Case 2 Determine R > r 
0 < r < R , r | R have 5 cases are 0 < d < r , d=r , r < d < R , d=R and d > R
The patterns that be produced by Epitrochoid look like overlapping gear belt curve and rose curve that has sharp groove. The patterns depend on R, r and d. The number of coil springs can find by R/r.
2.Studying about the relationship between r , R and d of Hypotrochoid curve equation. We found pattern from Hypotrochoid curve equation
Case 1 Determine R = r
r > 0 , r | R have 3 cases are 0 < d < r , d=r and d > r 
This case doesn’t any pattern.
Case 2 Determine R > r 
0 < r < R , r | R have 5 cases are 0 < d < r , d=r , r < d < R , d=R and d > R
The patterns that be produced by Hypotrochoid look like oval curve, rose curve and  turning out gear belt curve. The patterns depend on R, r and d. If the value of d closer to r value, it makes a pattern more oval. When we increase d value, turning out gear belt curve are bigger. it will overlap and become rose curve.
3. Studying about the relationship between the number of intercept point and pattern from Hypotrochoid and Epitochoid curve equation.
Epitrochoid curve equation
The number of intercept points can find by (R/r)2 ; d = R+r+1
Hypotrochoid curve equation
The number of intercept points can find by k(k-2) ; k = R/r
 
4.Make a drawing robot.
Using the relationship from Epitrochoid and Hypotrochoid curve equation to make a drawing robot. It can draw patterns from the relationship.
