Smart Desk for Cleaning a Classroom

Objective of project

In order to reduce the effort of cleaning a class room, we added the function to a desk. Our smart desk will save time for cleaning.

 We develop technology to make cleaning easy. In our school, there is a rule that groups take turns cleaning the classroom. However, our class has very many students but very few people assigned to cleaning. Therefore, cleaning is a difficult task. How much labor is it? That's the amount to carry, clean and arrange 46 desks and chairs by 5 students. Our technology will make it easy to clean up a class room.
 Among the cleaning tasks, I focused on carrying the desk, which is a difficult task. In order to reduce the effort of this work, we added the function to the desk. In particular, we implemented a function to automatically move the desk and stop it at a fixed position when the voice is commanded to the desk.
 We implemented the above functions by putting a wheel with omnidirectional movement, a sensor for self-positioning, and a microcontroller for control on a commercially available desk. We will discuss details in the paper.
