Smart Farming: Microcontroller based WIFI network sensors for environmental monitoring

Objective of project

To manufacture machine that can operate automatically.  

To be the demonstration media or instruction media about Smart Farming for Thai people.

Thailand is one of the countries that highly competitive, specialized and diversified in agriculture. Agriculture is the backbone of Thailand or it is the original base of people. An estimated 9% of Thai GDP comes from agricultural production. Agricultural productions, such as rice, palm oil, coconuts, sugar cane, rubber tree, are major exporters of Thai products.  
Nowadays, there are lots of methods or implements for growing plants. Normally, growing plants from the seeds in the soil are commonly used everywhere such as in households or farms. Or sometimes people use the parts of plants to grow, such as leaves, tree branches, roots. These are variables used in large scale agriculture. And the latest one is hydroponic. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil by instead using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. Their roots immerse all the time with mineral; therefore, they are able to adsorb directly without having to wait for microbial degradation. 
Microcontroller, a small computer on a single integrated circuit, combines with Smart Farming that is a farming management concept using modern technology to increase the quantity and quality of agricultural products through GPS, soil scanning, data management, and Internet of Things technologies. 
So, we are interested in using a microcontroller with a WIFI network to control the machine and analyze the data. Firstly, the sensors on the machine will receive environmental data, temperature, and humidity, via the WIFI network to adjust an appropriate environment according to weather. Then, analyze the data for commanding our machine. Secondly, the machine used microcontroller as the controller that can operate automatically. It can control all the processes, such as, digging, sowing seeds, watering, activating plant growth by using LED light. And we will use light energy from the solar cell as the energy resource for our machine. 
For mechanism, we drive with a 2-dimensional stepping motor to sow seed and water the plant according to the setting data. And inside each pot is an installed sensor. In water pump is consisted of the motor to absorb water up via controlling by the relay to close or open
